Steam Shower

A steam shower is a sealed shower enclosure equipped with a steam generator that creates a personal steam room experience at home. Unlike standard showers using hot water spray, steam showers fill the space with humid vapor at temperatures around 110-115°F, providing therapeutic benefits from deep relaxation to respiratory relief. Steam showers require specialized construction—completely sealed enclosures with sloped ceilings to direct condensation away from bathers, steam-proof materials, and dedicated steam generators. Most systems include digital controls for temperature and duration.

Placement & Usage Tips

Must be completely enclosed with ceiling—no open tops. Use non-porous, steam-resistant materials. Slope ceiling toward walls to prevent dripping. Install steam head at minimum 6 feet high. Generator should be within 25 feet of shower.

💡 Pro Tip

Size the generator correctly for enclosure volume. Calculate cubic feet and follow manufacturer's charts, accounting for cold surfaces like glass which require additional capacity. Plan for a dedicated 240V circuit.
